A "parking lot" rage incident on Black Rock Turnpike led to a breach of peace charge Thursday against a Bridgeport woman.
A man told police he was trying to squeeze by a car parked in the fire lane in front of the AT&T store, and he hollered at the car's driver, Shanica Merced, 23, to pull her car into a parking space.
The man said that after he pulled his car into a space, Merced came over to his car, reached in through the open window, and slapped him across the face. In response, he told police that he got out of his car and cursed at her.
According to the report, the man had a red welt under his eye, and his story was confirmed by a witness who works at one of the stores in the shopping center.
Merced, of North Avenue in Bridgeport, was released on a promise to appear March 14 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
