A Pease Avenue woman has been charged with stealing packages from her neighbors last December.

Rebecca Larew, 48, was charged with fourth-degree larceny by police who said she stole 12 packages, worth a total of $1,855, from neighborhood porches and mailboxes between last Dec. 5 and Dec. 15.

All the homes targeted in the series of thefts were in the Southport section of town, and Larew either rode a bicycle or drove a red SUV while carrying out the crimes, police said.

When police executed a search-and-seizure warrant at her home, they seized seven different items believed to have been among the pilfered deliveries, including televisions, games and DVDs.

Larew was arrested on a warrant Feb. 25 and has been cooperating with the investigation, according to police.

She has been arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court, but has not yet entered a plea in the case. Her next court date is March 29.
