Diana Carafotes, 25, of Adelaide Street, was charged with second-degree assault and breach of peace Sunday night.

Police said they received a 911 call from Carafotes' husband, who said his wife "blindsided" him as he walked around a corner in the house, hitting him in the face with a blunt object. He said the couples' two young children were with him at the time and he had been showing the first-floor apartment to prospective tenants.

When police arrived, the husband was bleeding from the lip.

Carafotes was released on a promise to appear Feb. 14 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
