Mariam Farhan, 66, of York Road, was charged with breach of peace Monday night after police said she threw a Nerf ball at a CVS pharmacy employee.
Officers were called to the CVS on Grasmere Avenue around 10 p.m. Monday on a compaint that a customer acting disrutively. Farhan had made some purchases at the pharmacy, but later returned because she said she did not get the discount she was due, according to the report.
A CVS clerk refunded Farhan her money, but Farhan allegedly demanded that the clerk do the transaction again, this time including the discount, police said. The employee, however, told Farhan she couldn't do that because the store was closing and the computers were automatically shutting down, police said.
At that point, police said, Farhan threw a Nerf ball at the employee, hitting her in the chest. Officers said Farhan continued to argue over the matter she had been issued the summons.
Farhan was released on a promise to appear Aug. 26 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
