A 24-year-old Easton woman faces charges after police said she left her 4-year-old daughter alone in a room at the Fairfield Motor Inn, 417 Post Road.
Brittany Hacker, of East Common Road, was charged Monday with risk of injury to a minor and leaving a child unsupervised. Bond was set at $25,000 and she was scheduled to appear Tuesday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
Fairfield police said they received a call from the Easton police around 7:15 p.m. Monday asking them to check on the welfare of a 4-year-old girl. Hacker's ex-husband called police after he said Hacker told him she left their daughter with a friend in another room at the motel.
When officers arrived, the child was in Hacker's room by herself, according to the report.
Hacker was taken into custody when she later was found by police, and officials then notified the state Department of Children and Families, which will determine the child's placement.
