A Trumbull woman, believed by police to be part of a larger ring of people making fraudulent returns to area Marshall's and TJ Maxx stores, was charged on a larceny warrant Friday.

Larisa Lein, 52, of Indian Ledge Drive in Trumbull, was charged with third-degree larceny. She was released on a $7,500 bond and is scheduled to appear Feb. 1 in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Police said since last July, Lein made six fraudulent returns of merchandise totaling $2,574. Lein and others in the ring would return merchandise bought at other stores, then attach higher price tags than the originals before returning the items.

Police believe several of Lein's co-conspirators may be relatives.
