Kimberly Piagentini, 39, of Woodridge Avenue, was charged with sixth-degree larceny Wednesday night after police said she took merchandise from Kohl's department store, 290 Tunxis Hill Road, without paying.

According to the police report, store security personnel said Piagentini hid $99 worth of merchandise on her person and in her purse, and then tried to leave the store.

She was released on a promise to appear Dec. 7 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
