Josephine Edmonds, 50, of Hope Street, Bridgeport, is facing drug charges after police said they found her with heroin and crack cocaine in the parking lot at the Fairfield Motor Inn last Thursday morning.
An officer on patrol spotted Edmonds sleeping in her car in the motel's parking lot, police said. The car was still running and was in drive when the officer knocked on the window, according to the report, after which Edmonds allegedly admitted to the officer that she had snorted heroin.
A search of the car with the police canine, Ruger, uncovered 15 folds of heroin, crack cocaine, several pipes, packaging materials, three pills and 1.3 grams of marijuana, police said.
Edmonds was charged with four counts of possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell and one count each of failure to keep drugs in the original container, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
She was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Nov. 20 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
