A commuter told police she was grabbed by a man as she walked to the Fairfield Railroad Station about 7 a.m. Thursday, but managed to scare him off.

According to police, the woman said she was walking from the commuter lot on Round Hill Road to the train station and as she was walking on the access road next to Tomlinson Middle School, the man came up behind her and grabbed her. She screamed and he ran back toward the commuter lot through an opening in the fence.

The suspect was described to police as white, with gray hair ,about 6 feet tall, heavy-set and in his late 50s. He was wearing a blue sweatshirt, dark shorts, light colored sneakers and a tan baseball cap.
