The Westport Weston Family Y's After School Program will be at Saugatuck Elementary School this year. The after-school program includes swim lessons, outdoor play, art activities, table games and snack.
"The combination of enrichment and extended learning opportunities is essential to increasing children's success in school," said Tasha Dennison, senior director of the Family Y's Child Care and School Age programs. "YMCA after-school programs promote a love for learning, social and emotional development, healthy choices, character and creativity, and provide children with an extra support system through positive role models to help them achieve and reach their full potential."
The Y's program accepts first- through fifth-grade children from Westport and Weston and takes place from the end of the school day until 6 p.m. The Y also offers an early bird program for kindergarten through fifth-grade children at the YMCA building, 59 Post Road East, starting at 7 a.m.
