Young pianist to perform at Fairfield University's Quick Center

The pianist Allen Yueh, 22, who won first prize at the New York International Piano Competition at the age of 17, will present a recital in Fairfield on Sunday, Jan. 12. The recital, at 3 p.m. in the Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University, will include works by Schumann, Brahms and Schubert.

From a young age, Yueh has won numerous competitions and performed in concert halls around the world including the Kennedy Center in Wash. D.C., Carnegie Hall, the Baryshnikov Arts Center and Steinway Hall in New York City and the St. Nicolò Auditorium in Italy. He was named one of 20 Presidential Scholars of the Arts in the nation in 2009.

Yueh graduated from Harvard University in 2013 and is pursuing a master's degree in music at New York University's Steinhardt School under Alexander Kobrin.

The concert is free and open to the public and no tickets are required.
