  • MAKING A BALD STATEMENT
Thirty-seven boys at St. Thomas Aquinas School and one of their teachers had their hair sheared off and in the process raised $15,000 to fight cancer in children. Posing here with gym teacher Brian Sullivan, center, the boys raised an average of more than $400 each for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which funds research in children's cancers. As clippers buzzzed at the April 23, the rest of the Catholic school's students watched and Principal Patricia Bradley led them chants of "Shave that head! Shave that head!" St. Baldrick's buzzings show solidarity with young cancer patients who lose their hair after chemotherapy. Photo: Contributed Photo / Fairfield Citizen contributed
