Dems taking applications for town committee

Fairfield Democrats are accepting applications from registered party members interested in serving on the Democratic Town Committee.

The 208-member panel will be elected during a caucus Thursday evening, Jan. 9. in the conference room at Board of Education headquarters, 501 Kings Highway East. All registered Democrats may vote at the caucus, the party said.

Applications must be submitted in person or by proxy between 7 and 7:15 p.m. at the caucus. A vote is scheduled at 7:30. Applications are available by emailing a request to the town committee at: fairfielddtc@gmail.com .Terms are for two years.

The town committee oversees Democratic activities in town and nominates Democrats for municipal offices.

In the event of bad weather, the caucus will be Tuesday, Jan. 14 in the all-purpose room of Roger Sherman Elementary School, 250 Fern St. during the same hours.
