Cathy is hardworking, intelligent and rational. I have known her for more than eight years and had a unique opportunity to work closely with her for the six years we served together on the Board of Education. I was always impressed with how she analyzed issues and made thoughtful decisions, not for the benefit of one group, but for the common good. Whether you agreed with her or not, she always listened and thoughtfully articulated her position.
Cathy is a dedicated public servant. After serving 12 years on the Board of Education, Cathy certainly earned the right to leave public service, but when an unexpected opening became available on the Board of Finance, she stepped up and agreed to once again serve our town.
Cathy represents what most Fairfielders want from a Board of Finance member. She has demonstrated an ability to understand the financial issues confronting Fairfield and how these issues relate to what most Fairfielders want out of their local government: moderate, balanced and fiscally responsible leadership that keeps spending and taxes in check, while ensuring excellent schools for our children; tax relief for our seniors; maintenance of our town facilities and roads and recreational opportunities that benefit all of our town residents.
On Election Day I urge you to vote for Cathy Albin for Board of Finance.
