The Brunswick School hockey team concluded its season in style Saturday night, winning the Empire Cup championship for the second consecutive year with a 3-2 victory over Albany Academy at Millbrook School.

Trailing Albany Academy 2-0 in the second period, the Bruins cut Albany's lead to one, getting a power play goal from senior co-captain Peter Khoury late in the period. The Bruins took control of the game in the third period, tallying two unanswered goals.

Stephan Seeger, the Bruins' leading scorer, notched his 16th and 17th goals of the season, giving the team a 3-2 third-period lead. The forward line of Harry Clifford, Travis Buck, Nick Viceconte and defensemen Andre Masse, Charlie Better and Khoury were on the ice the final ninety seconds to seal the Bruins' win.

Senior co-captain Gryphon Richardson ended his career in goal for the Bruins by snaring a point-blank shot from Albany Academy that appeared headed for the top corner.

The Bruins began the Empire Cup competition by recording a 2-1 win against Trinity-Pawling Friday night. Richardson was on top of his game in the team's win against Trinity-Pawling. The Bruins netminder made 32 saves, shutting the door on initial and second-chance opportunities in all three periods. Brunswick killed off three penalties the final 18 minutes to secure the victory.

With the victories, Brunswick ended its 2012-13 campaign with record of 13-13-3 -- a solid mark considering the caliber of teams it faces in the New England Division I conference.
