Southern Connecticut State University baseball coach Tim Shea announced Friday that seniors Ryan Yerina of Trumbull and Michael Cleary will serve as team captains for the 2013 season. Yerina enters his redshirt senior season with a career mark of 17-6. He posted a 4-1 record with a 2.76 ERA in six games before suffering a season ending injury early in 2012. As a junior, Yerina finished the year with a 3-1 record and one save to go along with a 1.71 earned run average. He earned all-conference honors as a sophomore in 2010, and in 2009, was named to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team. Cleary heads into the 2013 season tied with a program leading 17 career triples. The Owls finished 31-17 last season.
