The Fairfield Ludlowe boys basketball team ended its losing streak Friday with a 46-41 win at Staples Friday.

Going into the fourth quarter, the game was tied, 29-29. Ludlowe made a few clutch shots to take the lead for good and played well defensively down the stretch, forcing Staples into taking bad shots. Senior captain David Kingsley was dominant inside for the Falcons with nine points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots. Ludlowe did well at the foul line, going 17-23. The Falcons took most of their free throws in the late stages of the game because the Wreckers fouled them to extend the game. Conversely, Staples was 4-10 at the line and had two, 0-2s, the first time when it had a chance to tie it and the second time, when it could have made it a two-point (one-possession) game.

When Ludlowe needed to make a free throw, senior captain Mark Cerulli came through and was 8-10 at the charity stripe. Cerulli led the Falcons in scoring with 12 points.
