Ko helps Bowdoin skaters
Ollie Ko (Greenwich/Westminister) is the second leading scorer with the Bowdoin men's hockey team (13-1-1) with 10 goals and seven assists.
Junior defenseman Nick Trepp (Brunswick) has a pair of assists in 11 games with the Colby hockey team (3-11-1).
Matthew Mackin (Brunswick) picked up a win against Bates to improve to 2-2 on the season and 31-4 during his career with the second ranked Trinity men's squash team.
Thomas Galluccio (Greenwich/Rye Country Day) posted a victory as the Columbia men's squash squad defeated Georgetown.
Sam Haig (Brunswick) recorded as a win as the Yale men's squash team defeated (7-1) defeated Williams in recent action.
Wes Fantini (Greenwich/Loomis Chaffee) was with Wesleyan's second place 200 medley relay and third place 200 free relay and also finished third in the 50 free in a tri-meet with Brown and Providence.
Amanda Molinella (Convent of Sacred Heart) of Brown was fourth in the women's 1 and 3 meter diving events in the same meet.
Freshman Lauren Church (Greenwich) was second in the 100 backstroke and swam with the second place 200 medley relay while also picking up points in the 100 butterfly and 400 medley relay as Penn beat Dartmouth.
Sarah Lauridson (Greenwich) was second in the 500 free and 1000 free as the Connecticut College women's swim team topped Southern Connecticut.
Greenwich Legion Tryouts
Tryouts for the Greenwich American Legion team will be held Friday Jan. 25 from 7-8:30 p.m. and Saturday Jan. 26 from 4-5:30 p.m. at Bobby Valentine Sports Academy in Stamford. There will be three teams this season -- a 19-under, 17-under and 14-under squad. All interested players should contact Susan Dunster at email@example.com to register.
Winter programs at OGRCC
The OGRCC is offering Recreational Soccer programs for children of all ages (3 and up).
Soccer for Tots (Age 3 Only) Tue. 1:45-2:30 p.m., Litter Stars (Ages 4-5) Thur. 2 -3 p.m. and Fri. 2- 3 p.m., Kiddy Kick (Kindergarteners only) Fri. 3:40-4:40 p.m., Co-ed (Grades 1 to 2) Tue. 3:40- 4:40 p.m. and Fri. 4:50- 5:50 p.m., (Co-ed Grades 3 to 4) Tue. 4:50-5:50 p.m.
Mickey Kydes Soccer (MKS) curriculums are customized taking into consideration the developmental stages of each age group, and with an emphasis on soccer skills, responsibility, sportsmanship and fun. MKS has over 19 years of on field experience and is the Coaching Director for our recreational soccer program.

Youth basketball clinics will be held at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center each Thursday starting Jan. 31.
The six-week program for children in Kindergarten will run from 3:45-4:30 p.m. First and second graders will meet from 4:30-5:15 p.m., and third and fourth graders will meet 5:15- 6 p.m. The cost for the program is $100.
John Czarnecki will head the program. He has coached for the Greenwich Basketball Association, Greenwich Flame travel team, Greenwich Boys and Girls Club, and the freshman, junior varsity, and varsity basketball teams at Greenwich High School.
Indoor clinics scheduled
Registration for indoor field hockey clinics at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center begins by mail only on Jan. 7. Sponsored by the Department of Parks and Rec., the clinics will meet on five consecutive Sundays, starting Jan. 27.
The Session I class for girls ages 8-9 is 3:30-4:30 p.m. Session 2 (10-12 year olds) will be 4:30-5:30 p.m. Emily Prince, a three-time All-American while playing at Princeton, will direct the clinics.For more information, or to register, please visit www.greenwichct.org, or stop by the Bendhiem Western Greenwich Civic Center, 449 Pemberwick Rd. or call 203-532-1259.
Indoor clinic scheduled
Registration is underway for the Town of Greenwich Co-ed Indoor Lacrosse Clinic that is open to children ages 6 to 12, at the Western Greenwich Civic Center, beginning Jan. 28. Children ages 6-8 will play from 6:30--7:15 p.m, with children ages 9-12 meeting from 7:30-8:15 p.m. The clinic will be held until March 18.
This introductory non-contact clinic will emphasize stick work, passing, catching, shooting, basic offensive and defensive skills, and small-sided games will be played. The cost for the seven sessions is $95 and must be paid during registration. Sign up early space is limited to the first 12 children per class. Greenwich Track Club
The Snowflake Fitness program for children in grade 2-12 will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays until March 7 at the Greenwich Family YMCA.
