Local trio lead Providence
Three former Greenwich High School athletic standouts -- senior co-captains Dan Amen and Tucker Drake along with junior Lucas Gowland -- are key performers with the Providence College men's rugby team that will battle Holy Cross in the Northeast Championship Nov. 17.
The "Black Pack" is ranked sixth nationally and a win against Holy Cross would send them to the national championship tournament.
Providence, which defeated Holy Cross by a point during the regular season, is poised to finish a record-breaking season that includes scoring the most points by a team and allowing the fewest points by a team in the Rugby Northeast Conference.
