The Fairfield Ludlowe boys tennis team used two three-set matches to beat its rival on Friday.
The Falcons' Nos. 4 and 5 singles players, Alex Slobin and Alex Barker led Ludlowe to a 4-3 win over Warde on Friday at Warde.
Slobin overcame a 6-1, first-set loss to win the final two frames 6-4 against Kumar Kanav. Barker sandwiched 6-2 wins around a 6-3 second-set loss to his Warde counterpart, Jack Mappa.
Ludlowe won four of five singles matches, as No. 1 singles player, freshman Jack Meyer, was victorious due to an injury to Warde's top-singles player, Ted Berkowitz. The two split the first two sets 6-3, 6-2, before Berkowitz was forced to pull out due to a stomach illness
Falcons' second-singles player Dan Adajian held off Warde's No. 2 Eyad Nagori 7-5, 7-5.
The Mustangs rebounded from the loss, beating Norwalk 7-0 on Monday, improving to 6-4. The Falcons also improved to 6-4 on Monday, with a 7-0 win over Bridgeport Central.
