The Brunswick School wrestling team added another convincing win to its ledger, defeating visiting Hackley School, 42-29 on Wednesday.

Junior Evan Jonokuchi and senior tri-captain Connor Kupersmith began the match for the Bruins with pins in their respective weight classes. Junior Gregg Nabhan won his match by a 7-3 decision, while senior Johnny Erdman pulled out a victory in the final seconds of his 160-pound match.

Trailing 10-7 with 15 seconds remaining in the third period, Nabhan reversed his opponent and pinned him with 10 seconds left. Junior Will Rosato, freshman Joe Fervil, sophomore Jack Jones and junior tri-captain Jimmy Bell each won their matches by pinfall for Brunswick.

The Bruins (13-2) will host their annual Brunswick Invitational Tournament on Saturday.

Greenwich High School continued its perfect season, cruising past Fairfield Ludlowe, 137-49 at Fairfield University.

The Cardinals won 11 of the 12 events en route to raising their record to 5-0. Thomas Dillinger won two events, placing first in the 200-meter individual medley (2:15.32) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:02.06). Cardinals coach Terry Lowe said John Enquist had the "breakthrough swim of the day" in winning the 100 breaststroke. Enquist won the event in 1:10.87, placing ahead of the field by more than three seconds. Andrew Stotesbery (200 freestyle, 2:04.46), Ed Moss (50 freestyle, :24.48), Jess Aselin (diving, 250.25), Alex Lewis (400 freestyle, 4:23.93) and Jack Montesi (100 backstroke, 1:01.91) each won their respective events for the Cardinals. Montesi finished ahead of runner-up John Whiteside of Fairfield in the backstroke -- the son of former Greenwich record holder Stuart Whiteside. Tom Gannon had a first-place finish in the 100 freestyle (:57.59) for Ludlowe.

The Cards swept the relay events, winning the 200 medley relay (1:55.50), the 200 freestyle relay (1:42.86) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:50.82).

"It was a good opportunity for us to swim in the Fairfield University pool, where in a week we will square off against an undefeated Fairfield Prep team, which won the state championship last season," Lowe said.
