FAIRFIELD -- Kiley Evans lit up the scoreboard Tuesday night with 21 points as the Sacred Heart women's basketball team earned coach Ed Swanson his 400th career victory by defeating Fairleigh Dickinson 80-48 at the William H. Pitt Center.
The Pioneers are now on a seven-game win streak, making them 16-7 overall and 8-3 in conference.
Evans was one of three Pioneers in double-digit scoring. Gabrielle Washington had 14 points, while Morgan Merriman added 10.
The Pioneers opened with a six points before allowing Fairleigh Dickinson a bucket. With SHU up 10-4, the Knights kicked off a seven-point run to take their first lead 11-10.
With the score knotted at 16, Evans hit a jumper, starting the Pioneers' six-point run to give SHU a lead it would never relinquish, 22-16, with six minutes left in the first half.
The Knights remained close, but with Sacred Heart up by four with a little over three minutes in the half, Evans, who had 13 points in the first half, made a layup to start Sacred Heart on an 11-1 run that sent the Pioneers into halftime with a 37-23 lead.
The Pioneers continued to dominate in the second half, taking a 38-point lead with 3:50 left in the game on a Blair Koniszewski 3-pointer.
