The University of Bridgeport baseball program has received two more postseason accolades following the team’s 2016 success that saw the Purple Knights make UB’s first-ever NCAA Division II Championship Tournament appearance.

Senior designated hitter Alnaydo Rodriguez was named as an honorable mention All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), and junior third baseman Casey McCone, of Milford earned a spot on the 2016 second team East-American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region Team.

Rodriguez led UB in home runs and runs batted with a record-setting total of 10 homers and 41 RBI, and he also posted a .325 batting average in 50 games played.

McCone posted a team-best .357 batting average and was second in home runs with five and runs batted in with 36.
