NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Final Four Most Outstanding Player Breanna Stewart had 21 points, nine rebounds, four assists to lead the top-ranked Huskies to a 79-58 victory over No. 2 Notre Dame Tuesday in the NCAA tournament final before at Bridgestone Arena. The Huskies have won back-to-back national championships and an NCAA-record nine overall.

With the UConn men's basketball team winning the national championship Monday in North Texas, the women's team completed a Huskies sweep for the second time in history. The teams also won dual championships in 2004. No other school has accomplished the feat once.

The Huskies (40-0) completed their fifth unbeaten season in team history (1994-95, 2001-02, 2008-09, 2009-10).

Notre Dame (37-1) has lost in the title game in three of the last four years, also falling to Texas A&M in 2011 and Baylor in 2012. The Irish were seeking to win their second national championship (2001).

Stewart, Stefanie Dolson and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis were named to the Final Four all-tournament team. Stewart and Mosqueda-Lewis were honored for the second straight season.

The Notre Dame duo of Kayla McBride and Jewell Loyd were also selected to the team.

Mosqueda-Lewis added 18 points, seven rebounds and two assists for the Huskies. Dolson had 17 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists.

Bria Hartley finished 13 points, two rebounds and three assists.
