Coming from behind in the 2010 Connecticut Babe Ruth 15-Year Old State Championship finally caught up to the Fairfield team.

The squad fell behind 2-0, but drew even with Ridgefield in the fifth inning, but allowed two runs in the sixth and that was the difference as Fairfield was eliminated, 4-2 on Saturday at Kiwanis Field.

Ridgefield beat Fairfield for the second time in the tournament, the Ridgefielders won the opening game of the tourney, 6-0.

Tommy Howell allowed four runs and five hits over six innings, but got the loss for Fairfield. Alex Creta was 1-2 with an RBI and a run scored for Fairfield. Vic D'Ascenzo was 1-2 for Fairfield, but the team could only generate four hits in the game.

Ridgefield advanced to take on Norwalk on Sunday at 10 a.m. The winner of that game will advance to play Stamford in the finals on Monday and Tuesday, if necessary.
