"Consulting as an Option in a Challenging Economy" is the topic of the next presentation in the Fairfield Public Library's "Jobs 2011" series.

The program will take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 in the library's Rotary Room, corner of Old Post and Post roads. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for informal networking. The program is free and open to the public.

Consulting and freelance work are interim solutions for job seekers in a tough economy. Many businesses are hiring temporary consultants before offering them a regular, full-time job.

Leading the program will be Judith T. Evans, a career management expert with more than 20 years experience in coaching clients pursuing a range of options from finding a new job to starting a business.

She has held executive positions at Novartis, Cosmair and Right Management, plus more than 10 years teaching entrepreneurial seminars at New York University. She holds a doctorate from Harvard University and a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University.

Registration is required. To sign up, go to www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org or call 203-256-3160.
