NBC’s Emmy-winning comedy, “Seinfeld,” ended its nine-season run in 1998, but comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who plays a fictional version of himself in the show, is still getting plenty of laughs.
The comedian and actor will perform at the Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino on Saturday, Dec. 9. As he says on his website. “It’s not the easiest thing to try and put a smile on a face. But it’s always worth it.”
If you can’t make the live show, you can still catch “Seinfeld” in reruns, or download the entire series, created by Seinfeld and Larry David. The sitcom follows the lives of a neurotic New York comic and his equally weird friends.
When the series ended, Seinfeld moved on to projects such as “Bee Movie,” an animated film in which he voiced Barry B. Benson, a recent college grad who wants more from life than a career making honey. When he ventures out of the hive, he encounters a world beyond his wildest dreams. Seinfeld was also a writer on the film.
In 2010, he premiered a reality series called “The Marriage Ref,” and went on to direct Colin Quinn in the Broadway show, “Long Story Short,” which ran until 2011. In addition, Seinfeld, 63, is beloved as the creator and host of the web series, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” which has garnered over 100 million views.
Most recently, the married father of three has been performing at the Beacon Theatre as part of a year-long residency entitled, “Jerry Seinfeld: The Homestand.”
