Attention knitters: Gas up the car, and grab your best knitting buddies for the Western Ct Yarn Crawl, scheduled from Sept. 19-22.

For those who have never participated in this yarn crawl, it involves traveling throughout the northwestern part of the state, during its most glorious season. Yarn crawlers can travel from shop to shop, enjoying the bounty of the fall yarn season.

Each shop displays those yarns and products that they are most noted for, as well as new items that they are excited about and want to share with their visitors. All shops are offering anything from yarn and garment trunk shows and special kits to knitting guests and giveaways.

This year, the event’s host, the Western Ct Yarn Council, is offering up some special fun. Everyone participating in the crawl will be eligible to receive a commemorative cotton tote, free with the purchase of $25 or more where they pick up their passports.

Tote bags will also be available without purchase for $5. Yarn crawlers will receive a free signature shop button to embellish their tote at each shop. There is one tote per customer, as supplies are limited.

A visit to each store will entitle each participant entry to nightly drawings for fabulous prizes. Visit all seven yarn shops, and each crawler’s name will be added to a grand prize drawing, of more than $200 in gift cards from each store.

Participating stores are A Stitch in Time, Bethel; In Sheep's Clothing, Torrington; nancy O, Ridgefield; New England Yarn, Southington; Knit & Pearls, Avon; Westport Yarns, Westport; and Stars Hollow Yarns, New Preston.

In Sheep’s Clothing, 10 Water St., Torrington, is offering up a fabulous trunk show, new fall and winter yarns, gift with purchase, raffle prizes, and a special grand prize. For further information and online map please see these links, and
