Irish star Nathan Carter & band to play The Bushnell May 24
If Nathan Carter were an American singer, he’d be a huge country/Westerns star, judging by some of his accessible songs on YouTube. Oh, and he’s also a huge UK Country presence, born in Liverpool but with deep family roots in Ireland’s County Down.
With 77 straight weeks at the top of Irish charts, he’s actually being called Ireland’s top entertainer of the moment, which you can sense when you see him sing “Shallow” on the Irish TV network RTE with Irish singing show winner Clodagh Lawlor.
Carter, who plays guitar, piano and accordion, brings his upbeat live show to The Bushnell in Hartford Friday, May 24, featuring not only marquee looks but a six-piece band, stage set and light show along with special guest Chloë Agnew (an original Celtic Woman). Carter has seven recorded albums.
The Bushnell, Belding Theatre, 166 Capitol Ave., Hartford. Friday, May 24, 8 p.m. $69-$38. 860-987-6000. Bushnell.org
