Sarah Brightman to bring silky tunes, ‘Hymn’ or 2, to Foxwoods Feb. 1
It’s no joke if you hear English soprano Sarah Brightman singing in Mandarin Chinese somewhere in Asia; the 58-year-old has crossed over from classical to other music forms and from London’s West End (where she began in “Cats”) to venues across the world. She has sung in a dozen languages.
On Friday, Feb. 1, Brightman will bring the dreamy/lovey lyrics and apt melodies of her “Hymn” album, along with other music, to the Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino.
Every pair of tickets purchased will include a copy of the new album.
Brightman is the world’s biggest-selling soprano, notes a Foxwoods release, and is famed for possessing a vocal range of over three octaves. She is the only artist to have simultaneously topped the Billboard dance and classical music charts.
And widespread appeal? Her global sales of 30 million units have received more than 180 gold and platinum awards in some 40 countries.
