Things to do: Brian Regan stand-up gig at Trumbull park
Comedian Brian Regan, who has begun performing socially distanced stand-up gigs, is coming to Indian Ledge Park in Trumbull for a show on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 5 p.m.
The Connecticut Comedy Festival is hosting Regan’s gig at the site on Indian Ledge Park Road. Organizers said this is an outdoor, socially distanced, “picnic-style” show, with attendees asked to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. No alcohol will be allowed. Also, seating will not be provided, so guests are asked to bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on.
General admission tickets are $40. Advance tickets only are available at www.connecticutcomedyfestival.com. No tickets will be sold at the gate.
Regan, called “The funniest stand-up alive” by Vanity Fair, has stared doing socially distanced shows after being off the road since early March.
Regan recently told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch he doesn’t dwell on the pandemic in his act, preferring instead to make his shows feel as normal as possible. “I want my show to feel like a distraction from that, not an addition,” said Regan, who is focusing on new material in preparation for a Netflix special, tentatively scheduled to be filmed in October.
