Warner Theatre to screen holiday movies ‘The Year Without Santa’ and ‘Miracle on 34th Street’
For the third year, Torrington’s Warner Theatre will open the holiday season with a screening of two classic films on the venue’s 50-foot screen.
On Saturday, Nov. 28, “The Year Without a Santa Claus” — the 1974 stop-motion animation television special featuring George S. Irving and Mickey Rooney — will be shown at 1 p.m. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Admission is free and no tickets are required; the line will begin under the marquee.
Later that day, the 1947 version of “Miracle on 34th Street” — starring Maureen O’Hara, John Payne, Edmund Gwenn and Natalie Wood — will be screened at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 for a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Tickets for this film are $5.
