Yale University Ph.D. student Matthew Amodio defended his crown and carried on his quiz show conquest to a 38th consecutive game won, tallying a $50,800 victory. His latest victory has also pushed his cumulative earnings to $1,518,601. The artificial intelligence student has also surpassed previous "Jeopardy!" contestant James Holzhauer on the show's list of all-time consecutive games won. Amodio previously told Hearst Connecticut that he’s still getting used to all the attention he’s received during his time on the show.
“I have been very uncomfortable!” he said in an email of his newfound fame. “I’m an introverted person at heart, and maybe over enough time I would get used to this amount of attention, but that time has certainly not come yet. I still get chills when I see an article written about me. Me? Me, me?”
