Author to speak at Friends luncheon
The Friends of the Fairfield Public Library will host its second annual Ladies' Literary Luncheon with special guest Kelly Corrigan from noon to 2 p.m. May 26 at The Patterson Club, 118 Cross Highway.
Corrigan is the best-selling author of "The Middle Place" and "Lift," the former of which is a memoir of the author's fight with cancer. The latter is a letter penned to her two young daughters about their particular relationship and parenthood in general. Both the hardcover and paperback versions of "The Middle Place," Corrigan's first book, spent numerous weeks on the New York Times Bestsellers List. In March 2010, "Lift," her second book, was No. 2 on the paper's list for "Hardcover Non-Fiction Bestsellers."
Corrigan will speak to a sold-out crowd of 240 women at the luncheon, which is a fundraiser for The Friends of the Fairfield Public Library.
Copies of The Middle Place and Lift will be available for purchase along with an array of themed baskets to be raffled during the event.
