The Kiwanis Club of Fairfield's recent second annual golf outing raised nearly $8,000 for the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.

The club presented a check for $7,875 to the mission, which matched funds to double the amount. Additional funding may be presented at a later date.

The outing, held at Tashua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull, hosted over 90 golfers and was chaired by Kiwanis members Dirk Vanderblue, John Hackett and Al Paolozzi.
