Three Fairfield residents recently won top honors at the Easton Arts Council's Regional Juried Photo show.

Emily Guimento won first prize for her entry, "Silverman's"; Sarah LeClerc won second prize for "Old Doors"; and Kati Csizmadia won honorable mention for "Icy Reservoir" in the under-18 category.

Juror Rene Genest praised Guimento's choice of perspective in his comments.

"By positioning the dark wagon panels, the image has the illusion of supporting all the vegetables," Genest wrote. "By placing the cart's wheel in opposite diagonal ends, it helps balance the image. The placement and cropping of the large pumpkin in the lower right corner and smaller pumpkins in the upper right helps by continuing the color harmony throughout."

Guimento, LeClerc and Csizmadia are photography students in Michele Hermsen's class at Fairfield Ludlow High School.

Guimento's photo will join those of past winners on permanent display in the Easton Town Hall. All photos, including past winning entries, are among the 70 scenes of Easton on display in the Community Room of the Easton Library, 691 Morehouse Rd., through Dec. 17 during Library hours. Most are available for purchase by calling Kris Lynch at 203-261-0175 or Howard Aaron 203-374-0705; a portion of sales go to support the Library and to further the arts in Easton.
