Free seminar introduces 'mindfulness"™
Abrams says mindfulness has been shown to offer support for challenges with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, illness and simply wishing to live a fuller life. The practices explored at the free session will include gentle yoga stretches, meditation and mindful eating. Abrams has been teaching an eight-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program, created 30 years ago at UMass Medical Center, since fall 2007. She has taught yoga for 16 years, was director of volunteers for Mid-Fairfield Hospice for nine years and has a master's degree in biology and nutrition.
