Students at St. Thomas Aquinas School in Fairfield are mapping an early route to academic success.
That's because the youngsters made their mark competing in the Geography Bee sponsored by the National Geographic Society.
Finalists from the school in the 2011 competition include: Peter Campbell, the current school champion; Brendon Reed, second-place winner; Liam Day, third-place winner, and Grace Donelan, Max Moeser, Hugh Foley Ryan Cimmino, Samantha Dunn and Thomas Wiig.
All of St. Thomas' students in fifth- through eighth-grades have competed in the educational event since 2002.
