Local students to perform in Follies musical

"Follies," an annual musical theater production with student performers from towns across the region, will present "It's Time to Stand Up!," a musical theatre revue of Broadway's songs, at 7:30 p.m. May 20, and May 21, and 2 p.m. May 22, at Bunnell High School, 1 Bulldog Blvd., Stratford.
The show, which drew students from 16 area high schools and two middle schools, will feature 11 pupils from Fairfield schools, a student from Westport's Bedford Middle School and three students from Weston High School. The rest of the cast is from schools in Bridgeport, Easton, Milford, New Canaan, New Haven, Newtown, Redding, Stratford and Trumbull.
Broadway songs will come from musicals such as "Dreamgirls," "Les Miserables," "West Side Story" and "Ragtime" to current shows including "Memphis" and "American Idiot."
Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for students. Group rates of $14 each are available for the Sunday show for groups of 10 or more. Tickets can also be purchased at the door by cash or check only.
