Music Theatre of Connecticut School of the Performing Arts' presents The Wizard of Oz, a fully staged and costumed production performed by MTC School of Performing Arts.

One of the classic family films of all time comes to life on stage. Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and Toto will travel down the yellow brick road to the magical land of Oz. The production includes "Over the Rainbow," "Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead," "If I Only Had A Brain," "We're Off To See The Wizard" and other songs from the beloved film. The Wizard of Oz is based on the book by L. Frank Baum, with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg.

The Wizard of Oz is directed by Jim Schilling of Norwalk. The cast includes Lauren Beranek, Sydelle Bernstein, Daisy Brackett, Jane Ewert, Aliza Gross, David Hoffman, Julia Rakin, Morgan Skinner, Gabriela Vega and Georgia Wright of Westport. Irish Harvey, David Littlefield, Chloe Mandel, Eve Mandel, Nicky Newman, Sammy Newman, Alexa Nichols, Samantha Nichols and Nikki Scamuffo of Wilton. Isabel Angeli of Weston, Liza Kottler and Amanda Miller of Fairfield and Emma Karlan and Winnie Marion of Old Greenwich.

Performances take place Friday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, July 17, at 1 p.m. at Coleytown Middle School, 255 North Ave., in Westpor. Tickets are $12--20, and reservations are suggested.
