Cindi Bigelow, a Fairfield resident and president of Bigelow Tea Co. in Fairfield, will be one of two honorees at Sacred Heart University's 22nd annual Discovery Awards and Scholarship Dinner on April 27 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Greenwich.

Bigelow's community service includes sponsoring a Habitat for Humanity home in Bridgeport, working on the Kennedy Center's Adopt-a-Home project and building Jennings Beach's Sandcastle Playground.

She also has served on the Bridgeport and Fairfield YMCA boards for eight years and sits on the board of the Bridgeport Regional Council and the Bank of America Neighborhood Excellence Initiative Committee.

The annual Bigelow Tea Community Challenge road race, which she founded in 1988, has since raised $600,000 for local charities.

The other honoree will be Robert Dilenschneider, chairman and founder of the Dilenschneider Group, a New York public relations firm.

Dave Price, former weather anchor for the CBS' "The Early Show," will be the master of ceremonies for the evening. Event co-chairmen are SHU trustees Linda McMahon, former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment and unsuccessful candidate for U.S. Senate last year, and Bill Mitchell of Mitchells of Westport.

The event begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by the dinner program at 7.

Individual tickets are $500. Proceeds will benefit Sacred Heart's Discovery Scholar Grants for eligible Fairfield County students.
