Southport volunteer firefighters to participate in Baskin-Robbins event
The Southport Volunteer Fire Department will participate in Baskin-Robbins' "31-Cent Scoop Night" from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at Baskin-Robbins, 3355 Post Road.
Baskin-Robbins, which will donate $100,000 to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, plans the event nationwide to honor firefighters and will reduce the price of ice cream scoops to 31-cents. Customers will also be able to make donations to local fire services.
The Southport volunteer firefighters, whose department dates back more than 115 years, will display apparatus, equipment and tools at the store during the program.
