The fourth-grade class at St. Thomas Aquinas School recently organized a project in which eight students donated locks of their hair to Locks of Love.

The students who each gave ponytails of at least 10 inches in length were: Grace McGonagle, Bridget and Anna Paulmann, Sydney Napolitano, Caroline Grosso, Sophie Prince, Scarlett Rollins and Colleen McCurley.

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair because of a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure.
