St. Vincent's Special Needs Services in Trumbull has been selected as the beneficiary of the 2011 Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival.

The event, which will take place in early December at the historic Burr Mansion, will have a theme, "A Special Year ... 30 Years of Giving."

A subsidiary of the St. Vincent's Health Services system, Special Needs Services is a provider in southern Connecticut of education and therapeutic programs for children and adults with multiple developmental disabilities and special health-care needs. Programs for children and their families originate from the Feroleto Children's Development Center in Trumbull while adult day programs are provided at facilities in Stratford and Norwalk. There are 11 group homes with round-the-clock care for both adults and children in seven Fairfield County communities.

The Christmas Tree Festival, which last year benefited the Burroughs Community Center in Bridgeport, recently presented a check for $236,000 to the Burroughs Board
