MILFORD — A Bridgeport man was arrested in connection with a gas station burglary last year in which $11,000 was reportedly stolen.

According to the Milford police department, on Wednesday, officers took custody of Carlos Ortiz, 30, in regards to an active warrant for his arrest.

Police said that, on November 24, 2019, officers responded to the Citgo Gas Station at 222 Broad St., for a report of a burglar alarm.

Officers reportedly found that the front door to the business had been pried open and a safe that contained over $11,000.00 in US currencywas stolen. Police said an investigation led to the arrest warrant for Ortiz.

Ortiz was charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, second-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny

Ortiz appeared in Milford court on Wednesday.
