NEW MILFORD — This summer, the town will be hosting a family-friendly, town-wide scavenger hunt with proceeds supporting the Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, according to a press release.

From May 1 to July 31, residents can grab their smartphones and hop in the car to complete the hunt and compete for prizes.

After making a $10 donation to the local Habitat for Humanity, participants will receive a map in their email inbox that has special directions including a starting spot and initial clues, the press release states.

The scavenger hunt is billed as a two hour adventure with roughly 15 to 20 stops that aims to help residents of all-ages “get out of the house” and explore the town. Participants will test their New Milford knowledge by reading and solving clues around town.

As they drive along, residents can win prizes by posting photos at different locations, including one at the final location. Each month a different grand prize winner will be selected.
