ORANGE — A New Haven woman was charged after struck another car while driving and fled the scene, police said.

Ebonese Bennerman, 38, of New Haven, was charged with evading responsibility.

She surrendered to Orange police Wednesday after learning of a warrant for her arrest, which stemmed from a crash in March.

On March 28, Bennerman was driving a car that struck another car on Route 34. Witnesses were able to get a license plate from the vehicle and, soon after, secured a warrant for Bennerman’s arrest.

Bennerman was released on a promise to appear. She’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.
