BRIDGEPORT — A suspect rammed into a Bridgeport police car during a pursuit that took officers through the city and Fairfield.

Officers started chasing the car around 1 a.m. Sunday on the east side of Bridgeport, then onto the highway and into Fairfield, spokesman Av Harris said. The suspect threw something out the car on the way, he said. It is still unclear whether this was narcotics, a firearm or multiple firearms, Harris said.

The suspect was caught on Mountain Grove Street in Bridgeport, but not before he hit a police car. No one was injured, Harris said.

Fairfield and state police assisted in the chase.
