STAMFORD — A man was arrested at Pacific House homeless shelter on Thanksgiving after allegedly punching another man during a Thanksgiving meal.

Stamford Police said the victim was getting up from the table around 12:45 p.m. when a man named Bershley Jean-Charles, 26, approached him from behind and punched him on the left side of his face. No motive was given for the alleged assault.

The man was knocked unconscious for a few seconds, police said. Jean-Charles was pulled away from the man and police were called. Jean-Charles was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

The victim was transported to Stamford Hospital for treatment.

A $10,000 bond was levied against Jean-Charles.
