WESTHILL 56, FAIRFIELD WARDE 53: Kevin Leumene nailed a 3-pointer with 1.4 seconds remaining, lifting Westhill to the dramatic home win Thursday night. Westhill (3-8, 3-6) finished with nine 3-pointers in the contest as Leumene and Tony Dobinson each made four from downtown and Tim Simmons added another. Westhill led 13-7 after one period but trailed 25-24 at halftime and 42-36 after three quarters before rallying with a 20-point explosion in the final period. Dobinson paced Westhill with 16 points followed by Leumene (12), Simmons (11 points, seven assists) and Marvin Leveille (10 points, 20 rebounds). For Warde, Tyler Bisack poured in a game-high 23 points.

WARREN HARDING 77, STAPLES 46: KinTwan Miles scored 16 points while Laquan Mendehall added 13 as Harding (9-1) downed FCIAC rival Staples Thursday. Willie Gray added 11 points for Harding (9-1), which led 38-22 at halftime.

HOPKINS 65, GREENS FARMS ACADEMY 47: Lucas Hausman scored 16 points followed by Austin Dechaius (12) and Matt Luciani (10) as Hopkins (6-5) posted the FAA victory over GFA Thursday. For GFA (4-9, 0-5), Dan Chase had 17 points and eight rebounds while C.J. Smith chipped in seven points and five steals.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

FAIRFIELD WARDE 46, WESTHILL 41: Kate Kerrigan poured in a career-high 19 points and made four straight free throws down the stretch as Warde earned the FCIAC victory. Ali Rocchi scored 16 points for Warde (5-8, 5-6). The game was tied 31-31 after three quarters. For Westhill (3-10, 3-8), Megan D'Alessandro scored a team-high 15 points followed by Ginny LaFauci (nine points).

STAPLES 66, WARREN HARDING 24: Suvi Puritpatarrapan scored 16 points while Chelsea Salamone had 14 points as Staples (9-4) posted the FCIAC triumph over Harding. For Harding, Neish Franco scored nine points.
